The TERRAM Salt Barrier geocomposite has been developed specifically to prevent saline groundwater damage to plants, caused through its capillary rise into 'sweet' soil zones and has a proven record on a number of high-profile projects in the Middle East, such as the Palm Jumeirah Development, where it was used extensively. 

Traditionally, soft landscaping in areas with saline groundwater have required 300mm of crushed stone as an interception layer to allow successful cultivation. TERRAM Salt Barrier replaces this granular layer and reduces the environmental impact by avoiding the need of a primary resource and the attendant transportation costs.
